I’ve worked as an art teacher for many years, and now work part time doing workshops for teachers and children. My main artwork, and something I really love doing, is creating small sculptures, using recycled bases, which I change in some way, often by painting with ceramic paints or engraving. Next I do my figure, using a type of modeling clay. I love the fact that I’m giving new life to things such as forgotten silver trophies, vases, candlesticks or moneyboxes. I guess you could say my sculptures are quirky and certainly unusual. They seem to have a life of their own and often turn out quite differently from how I’d planned. I paint on canvas using acrylics, and lately my four sisters seem to pop up in my artwork.  For many years I’ve been painting colourful calico bags. It makes me happy to see my artwork being carried around the supermarket. Just for a change I enjoy painting on ceramic ware too. www.artypacks.com.au
